We are working hard with partner organisations and those seeking sanctuary around the city to identify the immediate needs of those seeking sanctuary and to ensure that thos voices are heard where it matters.
We have already had some success in stopping evictions from asylum accommodation during this time. Our letter, along with the support of a national campaign, led to the announcement that all eviction from asylum accommodation would stop for three months.
We are currently supporting calls for Mears and the Home Office to provide wifi access in all asylum accommodation and working with ASSIST to ensure that the council provides accommodation for those with No Recourse to Public Funds so they can safely self isolate.
If you would like to support our ongoing campaigning work you can donate to City of Sanctuary Sheffield here.
