We’re thrilled to share some before and after photos of The Sanctuary showing the incredible journey this space has undergone. Through an iterative, community-led design process, The Sanctuary has evolved into a vibrant, beautiful, and welcoming space that truly feels like home for so many. It stands as a beacon of safety, joy, and connection in the heart of Sheffield.

As we now settle back into and live in the space, we’re focusing on the next steps, such as creating community art pieces to hang on the walls and fundraising to buy improved furniture. In developing The Sanctuary we have undergone and continue to undergo an iterative, creative, thoughtful, design process of researching, actioning and living in the space. We therefore continue to be led by the needs of people seeking sanctuary and are excited as to what this new, beautiful, space can become.

This redesign is a reaffirmation of our shared values and the collective care Sheffield has for people seeking sanctuary. Without the generous donations and support from our community, this work would not have been possible.
