The Sanctuary is our welcoming community space for people seeking sanctuary in the heart of Sheffield. It serves as an incredible resource for individuals seeking sanctuary and the wider movement advocating for refugee justice.
Run by City of Sanctuary Sheffield, The Sanctuary is shared by various organisations and community groups working towards safety and welcome for people seeking sanctuary. It also offers flexible spaces for hire, ideal for meetings, workshops, and events.
Located on Chapel Walk in Sheffield City Centre, The Sanctuary is a hub for community and support. Our space is designed to be warm, welcoming, practical, and beautiful.
Facilities
- Ground Floor – A bright and adaptable area, perfect for group meetings, workshops, and community events. Includes a fully equipped Kitchen, Calm Hub, seating areas, wudu washing area and accessible toilets
- Basement – Additional event space (accessible only via stairs)
- Offices – Shared workspace and private meeting rooms (accessible only via stairs)

Accessibility Note: The Basement and Offices are only accessible via stairs; there is no lift access.
