Thornbridge Hall concert raises a Grand for Welcome Centre

Thornbridge Hall, near Bakewell, was the magnificent setting for a concert of piano duets performed in support of our new Welcome Centre.  Sue Clark and David Winder entertained a packed room of invited guests, with a programme of pieces spanning three centuries, from Handel’s Water Music to George Gershwin’s opera Porgy and Bess.  The event, which took place courtesy of hosts Emma and James Harrison, raised more than £1,000 in donations towards the new Centre, which is due to open shortly. Sue and David came up with the idea as part of the contribution made by the Association of Bakewell Christians towards supporting refugees through City of Sanctuary Sheffield. Many thanks to all involved.
