Research among refugees in Sheffield shows a general appreciation of the care offered by the National Health Service, while highlighting a need for greater awareness of what is available and how it should be accessed. An inquiry, organised by City of Sanctuary Sheffield (COSS) in collaboration with partners in the refugee sector, also revealed gaps in understanding about the refugee situation amongst health professionals. COSS held two events in May 2018, funded by Healthwatch Sheffield, attended by a cross section of asylum seekers and refugees. One focused on physical, and one on mental health provision.
