In-depth – The multi-agency Drop-in is the advice and information hub for people seeking sanctuary in Sheffield. It aims to challenge the hostile environment and reduce practical barriers to accessing appropriate support by bringing together different agencies, including ASSIST, the Red Cross, and the SHU Refugee Rights Hub, in one easily accessible and central location. CoSS volunteers facilitate the space by signposting visitors to the right organisation for their needs, and provide information and guidance about other support available in the city. Where it is helpful, our volunteers also help people seeking sanctuary to access support and information over the phone.
Agencies at the Drop-in – ASSIST, Paul Blomfield’s office, British Red Cross (Refugee Support), Parker Rhodes Solicitors, New Beginnings, SAVTE, Shelter, SHU Refugee Rights Hub, Clothes Bank, Health and Wellbeing desk, Citizens Advice (newly granted refugees via SPRING project only)
Some agencies attend once or twice a month only. Please contact Anna for more information
